Although Miles was recognized as gifted in mathematics at a young age, he did not pass the 11 Plus. When he sat his examinations he found the mathematics paper easy and was sure he had passed it. I now know that his preparation had not been complete and this mistake on my part denied him a place in one of the best schools.

By the age of 8, my older son Marcel showed talent as a pianist and a footballer. Again, in ignorance I made the wrong choices for him. Had I not, he would be pursuing his heart‘s desire. I now know that the outcome, both for school placement and for my children‘s futures, could have been so different. I was able to rectify the poor choices I made and both my sons are now qualified computer engineers. Not all parents are so fortunate.

I would like to share Merams story with you.
At the age of 10 years, Meram was getting ready to change from Primary to Secondary School.
